Who Can Foster?
Who Can foster?
Fostering is open to a wide range of people. You can foster if you’re over 18 (though many services prefer you to be 21), have a spare bedroom, and can provide full-time care. It doesn’t matter if you’re single, married, or in a civil partnership, nor does your sexual orientation or ethnicity. You don’t need any formal qualifications, just patience, empathy, and a desire to help children in need. Your health, home, and finances will be assessed, but support and training are provided throughout the process to ensure you feel confident and capable in your role as a foster carer.
